7 Ways to Jazz Up Your Cards: Fun with Ribbon, Part 1

I don’t know about you, but I have quite a large stash of ribbon and need to really start using it up!  There’s loads of ways to use ribbon in our card making. Most of these ideas I’ve presented here don’t take a lot of ribbon or a lot of time.  Try some out on your cards and see if they don’t look a bit more textural and interesting!

There are so many ways to use ribbons on cards, but check out the video below with part 1 of my favorite 7 ways to use ribbon!

Video Tutorial: Family Accordion Book, Part 2

Well, it looks like I've forgotten to post Part 2 of my Family Accordion Book. Oops! Make sure to view Part 1 HERE.

Family Accordion Album

This is a great project to use up your scraps AND giving thanks for your family. Create one, fill it with old family photos, and bring it to Thanksgiving to share with your family. I bet they will love it!

Check out the video below on binding the book.

Creating Gift Baskets, Bundles, and More!

As we approach the holidays, your thoughts are probably turned toward gift giving. Have you thought about preparing a gift basket or bundle? With a little planning and preparation, you can gather, package, and present your bundles in a thoughtful and creative way.

Items in each bundle will vary as they will be unique to each recipient.  In this post we will discuss the following topics: The recipient, choosing a theme and items, the container, presentation and packaging.

Handmade Stamped Holiday Wrap

Here is a great project to get the whole family involved in the holiday preparations.  Use those foam stamps you have made in your Cricut (see my previous post) or use purchased stamps to create an ensemble of items to use for your holiday gift giving.

This project can be tailored to any theme…garden party, children’s birthday, etc.

I love creating with Kraft paper. Such humble paper paired with the very basics of white paint and black stamping ink. It yields a great, graphic look. With this type of project the goal is not perfection, but “humble simplicity”.  It does not matter if the stamped images are not straight or the threads are showing on your stitched cards…it’s all a part of the simple look.

Check out the instructions below.

DIY Stamping with Cricut, Part 2

In my last post, I shared my thoughts about using Cricut Cuttables Stamp Material. Not my favorite at all. Now let's talk about using craft foam. Craft foam is so cheap and works so much better. I have made a ton of foam stamps!  Just know that there will be imperfections when using raft foam.

DIY Stamping with Cricut, Part 1

You can cut stamps with your Cricut.  Just know that whatever material you choose to cut, it won’t be superior to any stamp image you can purchase.  If you come into this understanding that, you’ll be a lot happier.  These cut stamps will have imperfections.

You can either cut stamps using Cricut Cuttables Stamp Material or Craft Foam Sheets. The foam sheets work MUCH better than the stamp material. I'm just sayin'...

Let's start off with the Cricut material. Check out the instructions below:

From Old Book to ScrapBook

It is no secret that I love books. I have created mini books, journals out of books, and several altered books. Today I share with you a scrapbook that I made from an old book.
