Are You Busy? 10 Ways to Boost Your Energy!

I have been busy, busy since April working to create our new website, Craft Classes Online. Along with that I've been creating a place for my online workshops, Creative Workshops with Shirley Pando, and creating brand new workshops, including "A Crafter's Guide to Social Media Marketing". (for anyone with a crafty business)

Then there's the wife and mom duties and a very large emotionally needy dog! Add in spin class 5 days a week AND a personal trainer appointment two of those days! Yeah, I'm pretty busy. (and quite tired, but I love naps!)

So how do you boost your energy without too much coffee?? Read on...

I thought I'd share the journaling in my All About Me Album. (Pretty scary, but I know I can do it!!)

Check back to Part 1 and Part 2 of our project.  In today's post we'll see part 3 of our "All About Me" Paper Bag Album.

1 crafty take on a Project Runway challenge, Part 2

In the last post from Wednesday, I spoke about how much I love Project Runway. In a tribute to the show, I've brought back an project I made years ago using unconventional materials...in this case, the utilitarian brown paper bag. OK, so it's not that unconventional, but it is used in a way it was not originally created for. ;-)

Check back to the previous post to see the start of our project. In today's post we'll see part 2 of our "All About Me" Paper Bag Album.

1 crafty take on a Project Runway challenge, Part 1

I love Project Runway. I think I've seen at least 98% of the 13 seasons that have aired so far. (How did I even miss a season of my favorite show? Horrors!) It amazes me how can the designers can come up with a sketch and create a beautiful outfit in one day. As I watch, I try to think of what I would do for that specific challenge. I'd never make it with such pressure to create!!

What is even more amazing is the unconventional challenge. This is where the designers create an outfit using things that are not made for clothing. In past seasons they've used car parts (seat belts, headlights, etc.), candy (Twizzlers, Hershey bars, etc.), and plants (flowers, moss, etc.).

So in that vein, I started thinking of what I've made in my crafty pursuits that began with items that are not your usual craft supplies. Enter: a brown paper bag.

Ah, the utilitarian brown paper bag! It brings back memories of many a school lunch of PBandJ. Such a simple, yet useful, item. It was not that long ago that we used to create scrapbooks with them. I sold many a paper bag album on eBay years ago. Let's head to the "way back" machine and take a look at this timeless treasure.

3 Top Crafting Tools You Can Make With Your Cricut!

I love crafting tools. Some would say I love collecting crafting tools, and they just might be correct! I believe that if you spend a little more money to purchase quality tools, you will get the best results in your crafting. Good tools can really make or break your end product.

BUT, if I you can actually MAKE your own tools that work well, then that is even better. Such is the nature of today's post.

Create birthday decor with your Cricut and markers!

Today, I share a portion of a lesson from a previous online workshop. The course, called "Cricut: All About Birthdays", was taught along with Cara Miller and Jeri Parks.

A well planned party often has zones or areas where different events take place.  There may be a game zone, an area to set the birthday presents, and a table for the cake and other food items.  We’ll create signs and place cards for each designated zone.
