Project Life with Traditional Scrapbooking

Are you a collector of Project Life cards, like me? There's so many cute cards from Project Life, Simple Stories Snap Studio, Fancy Pants Brag Book, and others. I've been inspired from a course taught by my friend, Monica Bradford, at Big Picture Classes called, "Scrapbooking Outside the Pocket".

One of my goals this year is to complete two wedding albums for me and my son and daughter-in-law who were married last year in Paris. Here's one of the pages I've done using some of the PL cards. It was so quick and easy, as opposed to how I usually scrapbook...taking a day to decide what papers to use, what design to use, etc. UGH! If I scrapbooked like this more often just think of what I could accomplish!!

I can't tell you who made the cards or other supplies as I don't remember! I love the rhinestones around the perimeter!

Stamping on clear buttons

Want to make something totally unique for your next art project? Try stamping on clear buttons.

My clear buttons are by 7gypsies from quite a few years ago, but you can find them through other companies, too. Just do an internet search for "clear buttons".

When stamping on clear buttons or anything non-porous, you must use a solvent ink like Staz-On Ink by Tsukineko.

Lay your stamp on the table rubber side up and pat the ink pad on the stamp.

Lay the button down gently on the stamp.  Press and lift off when image has been stamped.

Remember that you'll need to stamp on the FRONT side of the button if you are stamping letters or words.

Try layering a patterned paper behind the stamp.  Adhere paper to button with dimensional glue and trim off edges.

And voila! A totally unique embellishment!

Help me with this card!

I have said it before and I'll say it again...I don't like making cards. I don't really know why, but I seem to rarely like what I make. Take, for example, this card, below.

It must have taken me an hour to create this and I still don't like it. Seriously!!??  So I am begging for your honest advice...what does this need? Is the background too busy? Does it need more buttons? Does the sentiment need to be on something different so it is more visible? Does it need to go in the garbage?? Please help!!

I will take your advice, redo the card and post the before and after.

I wait patiently for your reply. :-)

Beautiful Images with Square 1 Masterpiece Printable

Have you tried Square 1 Masterpiece Inkjet Printable Media?

http://shop.square1masterpiece.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1824

It's great! I've used several brands of inkjet printable fabric and Square 1 is in my top three for print quality, ease, and price. Just look at that gorgeous color.

Square 1 printable has a self adhesive backing so it can stick on many surfaces. I used some clip art I've been saving. I just love sunflowers.

I first printed my photo, let the inks dry a bit and chose my papers.

I grabbed my stash of scraps because I really need to use them up. You can see that the green polka dot paper was definitely a scrap.

I inked edges with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. The photo was adhered to a large tag. It's a great way to use up your tags!

Don't forget to add some pretty ribbons and a sentiment. Mine is from Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection, Simple Sayings CMS155. The other stamped images are 7gypsies Conservatory clear stamps.

The next card was another clip art image printed on Square 1 printable. It really is much prettier and more vibrant than printing on cardstock.

Gotta love it when you can make something pretty and use up scraps! ;-)

P.S. Right now, Square 1 Inkjet Printable Media is on sale AND there's free shipping to the US AND you get a FREE instructional video. What a deal!!

In this class, students will l
earn how to cut adhesive vinyl, contact paper, heat transfer vinyl, and flocked heat transfer vinyl and create a project with each of these materials. I just knew it...the food dilemma

I have been trying to live healthier these past few years. I'm working out like a beast 5 days a week. I'm in much better shape than I have ever been...really. Endurance and strength.  But I didn't want to do any weird drastic diets, but it sure is getting harder to lose weight the older I get. UGH!

I just knew that once I made my mind up to change my eating (I really do eat rather well already and I've been stalling on this...), that I'd need to cut out the delicious, but dastardly, coffee creamers. I might only have one cup of coffee a day, but I do add a lot of creamer...that wonderfully flavored liquid stuff! (full of chemicals!!)

Today was my first day without it. It wasn't a problem as I don't NEED coffee to start my day. I'm a morning person and I can get up early without a problem.  I just like coffee. It's sort of a comfort food...it's cozy for me. No worries, I just substituted with herbal tea and Agave sweetener. It's better for me anyway. Now, it's onto portion control.  (GROAN!) I will measure out my foods and stop eating sweets. You heard it...I've put it out there so now I have to do it!

If you're looking for help with food, I recommend the SuperTracker. My husband just turned me onto it and, while it can be rather time consuming to load in all your foods, it looks like it will really help me. In just tracking one or two meals I could see I eat WAY too much salt. And I already told you that I eat pretty well. But there's a lot of hidden salt in what you think is healthy. So have a go at it and see what you think.

Do you have any health tips to share that have worked for you? Inquiring minds want to know. ;-)

Here's to a few less pounds of me next time we "talk"!
