Christmas Cards, Tags, and Bags using Sketches, Part 8

Happy Holidays card

Title: “Happy Holidays” card
Basic Info:
·         Sketch #8
·         Card Base: 4.25” x 5.5”
·         Measurements: A- music paper 4”x 2”, red snowflakes – 4” x 3.25”, B- white trim, C – 4” x 0.5”, D – 1.75” diameter circle

Supplies: Cardstock, paper, printed twill, cancelled stamp, trim, circle punch, foam squares

1.      Cut A to size. Adhere to card base.
2.      Adhere printed twill where two papers meet.
3.      Adhere trim below twill.

4.      Mount stamp on paper.  Punch in circle. Mount onto card with foam squares.


Merry and Bright card

Title: “…Merry & Bright” card
Basic Info:
·         Sketch #8
·         Card Base: 4.25” x 5.5”
·         Measurements: A- 4” x 5.25”, B – 4” x 0.5”, D – sentiment 2.25” x 4”

Supplies: Cardstock, paper, border punch, die cut sentiment, glitter brads, foam squares, sewing machine, thread

1.      Cut A to size.  Adhere to card base.
2.      Punch paper with border punch. Adhere to red paper.  Trim and adhere 1” from top of card.
3.      Machine stitch perimeter of card and top of border strip.
4.      Mount die cut sentiment onto red paper.  Trim closely.
5.      Attach brads at top and bottom of sentiment piece.
6.      Mount sentiment onto card with foam squares.


Warmest Wishes card

Title: “Warmest Wishes” card
Basic Info:
·         Sketch #8
·         Card Base: 4.25” x 5.5”
·         Measurements: A- 4”x 5.25”, C – 2.5” x 0.75”, D – 1.75” x 2.75”

Supplies: Cardstock, paper, ribbon, felt tree, die cut oval frame, embossed paper, vellum sentiment, sewing machine, thread

1.      Cut A to size and adhere to card base.
2.      Machine stitch perimeter of A.
3.      Cut embossed paper to fit inside die cut oval frame.
4.      Slip vellum sentiment under embossed paper and adhere both to card. 
5.      Adhere frame on top.
6.      Adhere felt tree onto embossed paper.
7.      Knot thin ribbon and adhere to top and bottom of frame.

NOTE: Background paper was created by stitching 12 paper squares (1.75”) with zigzag stitch. 


25 tag

Title: “25” tag
Basic Info:
·         Sketch #8
·         Tag Base: 2.25” x 5”
·         Measurements: A- 2.25” x 4.5”, B – thin ribbon, C – 2.25” x 0.5”, D – 2.25” x 1.75”
Supplies: Paper, number paper, holly accent, thin ribbon, die cut oval, vellum sentiment, ribbon

1.      Cut A to size and adhere to lower portion of tag.
2.      Adhere thin ribbon 2” down from top of tag.
3.      Adhere numbers to die cut oval. Adhere to tag
4.      Adhere vellum sentiment beneath D.
5.      Adhere holly accent at top left corner of numbers.


Christmas Wish bag

Title: “Christmas Wish” gift bag
Basic Info:
·         Sketch #8
·         Bag Base: 10” x 13”
·         Measurements: A – 9.75” x 11.25”, B- dark pink 9.75” x 1.25”, C – green 5” x 2.25”, D – 3.5” x 4.75”

Supplies: Patterned paper, die cut snowman, die cut oval (green), rub-on letters, black journaling pen

1.      Cut A to size and adhere to bag.
2.      Cut C to size and adhere 2.5” below top of A.
3.      Hand-cut scallops with dark red paper and adhere at top of C.
4.      Adhere die cut oval to left side of bag.
5.      Adhere snowman on oval.
6.      Draw faux stitching to dark pink scallops and oval.

7.      Add rub-on sentiment below C.
