Create cards in a flash!

Anyone who REALLY knows me knows for some reason I don't like making cards. I have no idea why, but it's true. But in honor of World Card Making Day (tomorrow), I thought I show some easy ways I've made cards with the Cricut  machine. Sure, if you don't have a Cricut or any die cutting machine for that matter, you can still create cards similar to this. The biggest thing is having a plan, sketch or recipe and following it with all the cards.

Check out all the cards I made with one simple recipe:

Let’s make a stack of cards using the various icons on the "A Child's Year" cartridge that may seem “hidden” if you aren’t looking for them. Use the same images or tailor the cards to suit your needs better.  Remember to adjust your settings to the type of cardstock and paper you are using.

Tools & Supplies:

Cricut, blade, mat
A Child’s Year cartridge
Cardstock
Patterned paper
Embellishments
Paper trimmer, Scissors
Adhesives
Embossing folders, optional
Stamping ink, optional
Sewing machine, thread, optional

 Card Recipe:
1.      Card base = 4.25” x 5.5”.
2.      Cut smallest patterned paper to 2-1/8” x 3-7/8”.  Adhere on left side of another patterned paper cut at 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” right patterned paper.  Adhere to 4” x 5.25” black. Wrap ribbon around panel and tie.  Adhere or stitch to card base.
3.      Add cut image on top of black piece (embossed, if desired).
4.      Add buttons, bling, flowers, etc to left side.

NOTE: By changing out the colors and papers for this card it could be an Easter or Baby card.
