Baby Shower Time!

OK, I spent way too much time wrapping this baby gift for a shower tomorrow and making this little embelly, but it is so cute. I used one of those little 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" Bazzill chips and paper, paint, gesso, transparency, stamp, diamond glaze...she better not throw it away!!! LOL!

Snapshots from the backyard

This summer started out with such 15 days straight. I thought we were going to have to start looking for Noah to build us an ark...that much rain! It was making me really depressed. But now our weather has settled down and is regular Florida summertime weather. "Regular" for us is a sun shower or thunderstorm usually every afternoon around 4pm. Today and yesterday has been blistering hot in the 90's. I got outside to capture these photos before noon. The sun was already hot on my back as I got up close for the shots.

I almost caught the resident cardinal going for the birdfeeder, but I wasn't quick enough. Then there was the couple of bees that were pollinating the flowers on the trees...but they were too quick, as well. It was fun to watch them do their thing and be able to be up close and not be afraid of being stung. I was less than a foot away from the bees.

Happy summertime! Enjoy your weekend. :D

I am flippin' out!

Yesterday I received the Summer 2009 issue of Somerset Studio Gallery in the mail. Well, I don't subscribe to that magazine...but I do subscribe to just about every other Stampington mag there is. I know that if you are published in a Stampington publication that they will send you a free issue in the mag that you are pubbed in. So that was my first and only thought as I ripped the plastic off the mag!

So off I was in search of one of the seven mixed media projects I had sent in this past October. There it was on page 12 on the top right! Now I am screaming and my dog is flipping out! So I keep flipping through the mag and find not one, not two , or three, but FOUR of my projects have been published!! I scream at the top of my lungs as I find each of them in the mag.

They are all (except one) from my Mixed Media I class that I teach at My Creative Classroom. Check out page 12 top right, page 88 top, page 108 top left, page 170 top left.

Now, I feel I have accomplished a great goal and am a "real" artist!!
