A taste of things to come...

I am overjoyed at how this little fabric collage turned out. I will be teaching a fabric journal class very soon at My Creative Classroom and this is a big teaser for it! It measures only about 4" x 4-1/2". There's fabric, sewing, beading, paper stamping, mica, felt...I love it!!!

Check out the Student Activities Center...

...at My Creative Classroom we've just opened up the Student Activities Center. There you'll find the Java Stop, the Bulletin Board, and the Bookstore.

The Java Stop...think Starbucks and your favorite girlfriends... Come join in on scheduled instructor-led chats. Grab a mug of coffee, tea, or other favorite beverage, put your feet up and let's chat together! Tomorrow, 4/16 is our first evening chat....

The Bulletin Board is where you can find specials offers that the MCC Instructors are running.

At the Bookstore you will find some of our favorite crafting and organizational books that we recommend...all with a link to Amazon, just in case you NEED it right away!!!

Oh happy day!

Back to the Orthodontist we go...

DS#3 gets to have "metal mouth" again...he had the whole appliance thing in 5th grade and someone had the bright idea to take him out of it...well, if the orthodontist says it will take "X" amount of time, wouldn't you think he would be right? He is now at the end of 8th grade and goes back into the appliance again today. Poor thing. He really is a good sport about it, though...the girls at school think he's cute!!! Whatever!!!

Here's a new layout...

These photos are from my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary which was in April 2004. We actually surprized them. One of my older sisters planned it and I made the table decorations. We had my oldest sister fly in from Michigan for the weekend...she popped out from the corner and they couldn't believe it!! It was a great day!

When my #2DS saw this he said that I am way behind...oh, my dear son, you'll never guess how far behind I am!!! ;-)

Here's what it looks like outside my front door...

This huge oak tree is right outside the front window where I have my art studio.

Did you know that you have to trim out some of the branches of an oak tree or some strong winds can actually knock it down, roots and all? At the bottom of our street that very thing happened last month. And we didn't have anything like a hurricane...the whole oak tree fell over and the roots came up out of the ground! It landed on a fairly busy street, too! It was an amazing thing to see. So make sure you trim up your oak trees so the wind can go through the branches or that may happen to you!!!

I love it when I get a chance to make art!!!

Working on my online class...man, i am lovin' how this is turning out! Of course I can't post a pix until I am all finished, but I love the colors I have chosen. I will give a little hint...I love using black in everything I do. No it is not all black or even black and white, but black sure sets off the colors...any color! Nuff said!

On the next art note...I am so ready to dive back into my altered book...I started it a few months ago and haven't had time to get into it more...want to teach a class on it so I need to get some paints and stuff in it! I also really want to make a fabric journal...or fabric book of some kind...I have been reading some of my more artsy idea books and the fabric is such a great texture to work with. I need to get out of the house and buy some quilt batting...but I get so stuck in my chair...let's just finish one thing and then we'll go on to the next, OK??? I can barely walk in my art studio as it is...no need for more junk!!!

Working on a new class!!

If you haven't yet checked out My Creative Classroom now is the time. It is a great new online class site with all sorts of crafting classes. You name it, we have it! Sign up for the free newsletter and be the first to find out about all the new classes.

We are revamping the website, too, to include a "Student Activities Center". At the SAC there will be scheduled chats with the MCC instructors at the JAVA STOP, specials on classes posted on the BULLETIN BOARD, and the BOOKSTORE with some of the MCC instructors' fave crafting and organizational books....all linked up to Amazon in case you have to have it right now!!

But for now, I am working on a travel themed class...due to be out soon...in time to prepare your travel projects before you go on vacation. Then they are just waiting for your journaling and photos from the trip. Keep a look out for pictures and links soon to sign up!!!
